Abstract: In this lecture Catherine Barnard offers a highly personal perspective on growing up during the years of an evolving and deepening European Union, the impact of a Vote to Leave the EU and the prospects for the future negotiations.

Catherine Barnard (Law 1986) is Professor in European Union Law and Employment Law at the University of Cambridge, and Senior Tutor and Fellow of Trinity College.
