Description: On Thursday, 11 October 2012, Masha Gessen, author of The Man without a Face: The Unlikely Rise of Vladimir Putin (long-listed for the Samuel Johnson Prize), opened the lecture series 'Resistance in Russia and Eastern Europe' with a presentation entitled 'Resistance and Imagination'. In her presentation, Masha Gessen offers an analysis of the current state of the opposition in Russia, recounts her recent encounter with Vladimir Putin, and assesses the Kremlin's operational culture.
