Hello, I’m Claire Jelley and I’ve worked in the University for about 4 years in the Human Resources Department and I’m the H.R. Business Manager for the School of Biological Sciences

Question: How do the H.R. Teams relate to the six Schools?

There’s six academic schools in the University, Biological Sciences being one of them, and then there are a number of non-school institutions and unified administration services , so each of those seven areas has their own H.R. team led by a business manager with an H.R. Advisor and an H.R. Administrator and I’m the H.R. Business Manager for Biological Sciences. We work very closely with Business Services who produce contracts and liaise with payroll. So, there’s dedicated teams who work very closely with the Schools. But we are all located in the central function at the Old Schools.
