Economics was traditionally concerned with the production, distribution and consumption of things. In contrast, information now plays a central role in shaping economic activity. This talk examines how economists reason about the role of information in our economy. The talk will provide the requisite background, illustrating the subtleties and difficulties that arise in reasoning about reasoning, and describe recent work at the research frontier
