Description: While inequality between countries is falling, inequality within countries is rising – relative poverty is changing from a distant issue to one on our doorsteps. Drawing on his 2015 book, “The Globalization of Inequality”, François will present compelling evidence of these trends. Grounded in both economic theory and his extensive international experience at the World Bank, he will explore a series of measures: a top rate income tax of ~70%; higher wealth taxes; and social initiatives, to address these issues.
